This Sweet Devil

As with most things England, this little Devil here sprung up because of proteuswings and her JerseyDevil!America. I've seen him being played around just like England, just kick up on the evil (or so he likes to posture), but he turned out... like this. You'll see. Read on.

 

Background

Artie the Demon here is an imp. I'm not really quite sure about his origins yet, but there you have it. He's an imp and thus his expertise lie on mischief, not necessarily evil. He likes to play pranks and cause a raucous when he can. The Wikipedia article on the Imp is quite informative, which is why I took a lot of what he is from there. If you also take the time to read the article, you'd see some eerie parallels with England himself... But anyway! Yes, he's an imp. I like to toy around with the idea that he was also a witch or warlock's familiar for a time. 

Artie, of course, isn't his real name. It's a nickname given to him and he's quite fond of it, so he took it for himself, though he's always careful and wary of names.

Personality

As you can see from his userpics, he is far from the grumpy, tsundere that is England. He's cheerful and uninhibited. He's also quite clingy and affectionate. It's said that imps are rather lonely creatures and would do much for some human attention. Artie is friendly and playful and would love to have friends. He's also quite sweet and thoughtful, protective and caring over people he comes to adopt as his pets/friends/lovers, etc. Unfortunately, being a demon, he doesn't have a lot of friends. He'd love to have them, though he's quite used to having none. The imp is also rather sexual. Prude he is not, that's for certain. He sees no point in hiding his fondness for sex and lewdness and is rather outspoken, almost crass and tactless about the subject. For all his seeming airheaded cheerfulness, he's actually quite sharp and twisted. For all he looks cute and cuddly, one should always remember that he's still a demon and quite capable of some maliciousness.

Powers and Abilities

The imp's powers are mostly based on illusions and stealth. It's easy for him to disguise himself, able to blend in with his environment or change his appearance and voice to most anything at will. Since his "expertise"  is illusions, illusions by others usually don't work on him. He also has fire-based powers, though I still have to figure that out... He can also fly, given that he has a pair of nice leathery wings and he can fly fast and high.

The Jersey Devil

 

 Jersey, his demon lovely. They're not that exclusive, but they always find themselves back in each others arms. They have a bond, these two, and it could be considered love though given what they are, it can be quite twisted. It's funny, especially given how they met where Jersey almost ate Artie. These demons, really.  It's been said that Jersey only found tenderness with Artie and Artie himself just grew attached to him. Who knows with these two.

Other Things

• Artie loves cute things, particularly puppies. He's also quite fond of rain and Queen.
• His horns are very sensitive. Touch them and you've got aroused demon putty in your hands.
• His tail is very bendy and strong. It likes to form into a little heart when he's feeling loved or Jersey is around.
• He's as terrible at cooking as England. 
• He's a natural redhead.
